The Swedish ResourceCentre organisation originates from the 1980-s and it has grown successively since 1994 when the first National and the Regional Centres were created. Since 1999 NRC is a registered NGO with a rapidly increasing organisation. Today there are 20 Regional and around 150 Local Resource Centres and Networks in Sweden.

Fields of activity NRC operates in the following areas:

common policy, lobbying and financing issues ( primarily public basic means to finance the centres, legitimacy and education concerning women's rights)

competence training in various areas, especially gender equality issues, communication and IT,

combating social exclusion in the world of work, mentoring and counselling of long-term un-employed, immigrants, long-term sick

networking, developing contacts in EU and EU applicant countries the formation of public opinion |
